My guitar journey started almost 25 years ago, when I received one as a Xmas present at 13 years old. Prior to that, I’d spent five years playing alto saxophone in Avondale schools.
For a decade, I played around the Metro Detroit area, both with bands and as a solo artist, frequently gigging at bars, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.
My musical influences and interests are far-reaching, from Kurt Cobain and Nirvana first sparking my interest in guitar, to masterful songwriters like Elliott Smith, Drive-by Truckers, Outkast, Arlo Parks…I could go on and on. Music helps us connect to ourselves, each other, and the larger world around us. If it makes one elicit a desirable response, it’s good music to them. And that’s all that really matters.
