In my 24+ years playing guitar, I’ve learned that a basic understanding of music theory can significantly improve your songwriting abilities. The more you know, the more freedom you have. When you know the “rules” it makes it that much easier to follow them. Or break them!

Everyone can make music and should have the right to learn what they want…I don’t care if you know or don’t know Led Zeppelin and Frank Zappa. I’m not a gatekeeper of rock n’ roll; musical tastes are subjective. If you like it, I like it!
